UPS launches Trade Direct Air for Brazilian companies

The worldÆs largest express delivery service provider UPS will launch in the second half of 2005 the Trade Direct Air (TDA), a new air cargo service with support for Brazilian companies in the United States. UPS, active in Brazil for 10 years, has invested US$7mil in the country. More than one year the Brazilian subsidiary doubled its transportation capacity from 28 – 30 m tons 55 – 60 m tons. In Brazil, the company faces competition with DHL, Sedex and TNT. The company’s turnover in grew 20% in 2004 when compared to 2003. The express and air car cargo services division that employs 200 people, serves 6,000 clients in the country.
