BOWE Bell + Howell acquires BCC Software Inc

BOWE Bell + Howell, a leading provider of high-performance automated mailing solutions, announced today that it has acquired BCC Software Inc., a premier developer of mailing software.

Founded in 1978, BCC Software is a recognized leader in the postal software market. BCC Software and BOWE Bell + Howell offer complementary products, and the acquisition will result in synergies that are certain to benefit existing and prospective customers.

BOWE Bell + Howell will continue to operate BCC Software as an independent company under the management of its founder, President and CEO K. Jon Runstrom. The company will maintain its current staff and continue to be headquartered in Rochester, N.Y. BCC will become part of the Postal and Sorting Products Group of BOWE Bell + Howell.

BCC Software’s flagship product, Mail Manager 2010, is an industry-leading software solution that improves the quality of mailings and maximizes postage savings. The acquisition of BCC expands BOWE Bell + Howell’s breadth to provide postal software solutions to thousands of new customers. The combined organization will share technology companywide and provide enhanced solutions to new and existing customers to meet evolving mail preparation requirements.

Runstrom acknowledged that BCC Software had not envisioned that there could be an ideal fit with another company until its discussions with BOWE Bell + Howell. “BCC Software has been customer-focused since its inception,” said Runstrom. “As we have grown, every BCC employee has embraced the philosophy that our success depends on an eagerness to help each and every customer succeed. Clearly BOWE Bell + Howell shares our customer focus, and I look forward to both of these great companies sharing a bright future.”

Marv Isles, CEO of BOWE Bell + Howell, stated, “We have long known of BCC’s excellent reputation in the postal software arena. Once we took a closer look at the company, we concluded that there was tremendous synergy between our own products and technology and those of BCC. BCC fits with our strategy to expand and enhance our own postal software offerings in existing and new market segments. We believe that this acquisition will benefit our customers by providing improved products and competitive alternatives in the postal software market.”
