FedEx launches Khaosan Road world service centre in Thailand
FedEx has launched its new world service centre on Khaosan Road, catering to customers in one of Bangkok’s most popular tourist districts. The centre will meet the rising demand for express services from the Kingdom’s small to medium-sized business (SMEs).
The new world service centre is the sixth FedEx service point to open in Thailand in the past 18 months, joining similar facilities in Nana Square, Silom Galleria, Bangna, Pattaya and Chang Mai, providing customers with convenient access to fast and reliable express delivery to 220 countries and territories across the globe.
“FedEx’s global network makes it possible for Thai businesses to send their products to customers anywhere in the world, and we continue to increase services across the Kingdom, in response to customer demand,” said Clifton Chua, managing director for FedEx Thailand, Philippines and Indochina.
“Thailand’s small business sector is growing. Last year, it employed nearly 70 percent of the nation’s workforce, up from around 36 percent in 2000. FedEx understands the needs of small and medium-sized businesses, and has helped countless small business owners expand their product distribution and grow their business,” continued Chua.
According to Thai government figures, small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) account for over 99 percent of all local business operators and contributed nearly 40 percent of the national GDP in 2003.
Commenting on his use of FedEx’s network, Adisorn Tansuwan, a silverware vendor on Khaosan Road, said, “I can now send silverware products anywhere in the world, meeting my customers’ demand for immediate delivery. FedEx’s new Khaosan Road service centre significantly increases opportunities for businesses in the area.”
FedEx’s newest world service centre, located in the heart of the Khaosan Road business district, is open from 9.00am to 10.30pm seven days a week, offering extended pick-up and cut-off times for customers.
“The new centre is well positioned to support Thailand’s strong manufacturing and export industries.
