DHL launches fourth outlet in Qatar expansion plan
Strategically located on the Airport Road near the Airport roundabout, the new 300 square meter office is equipped to the highest standard with state-of-the-art technology and communication facilities as the Deutsche Post World Net (DPWN) subsidiary consolidates its position as the leading express and logistics company in the economically booming country.
Mark Jordan, Country Manager for DHL Qatar, said: ‘This latest office in Doha confirms our intention to continue to be the dominant express and logistics operator in the country. We have been in Qatar for 25 years and though we have a track record and reputation we can be proud of, we will not be standing still. Our continuing expansion in Qatar reflects our commitment to what we see as a key market in the region.
DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics solution provider, today stepped up plans to expand in Qatar by opening a fourth office in Doha as part of its planned QR 10 million investment in the country.
‘DHL opened its first office in Qatar in 1979 with only five people who took care of the express parcel service. Nowadays, DHL employs 75 staff, operates a fleet of more than 20 trucks – a total soon to be significantly increased and offers a one-stop-shop solution for clients with different needs. ‘
The QR 10 million earmarked to finance the development of the Qatar operation will see ‘DHL invest in its people, transportation, tracking and tracing technology, express service centers and offices, including increased warehousing space,’ Jordan said.
