SNAS/DHL signs with top Saudi bank to extend express and logistics network

The mailroom opening is only the latest aspect of the exclusive agreement between the two organisations whereby SNAS/DHL will handle the entire bank's mail, whether internal or external.

This latest development in the 25 years of co-operation between the global express firm and the Kingdom's top banking group will effectively open up access to both banking and express services to NCB's most remote branches.

SNAS/DHL, the region's leading logistics and express group and the National Commercial Bank (NCB) recently held an official opening for the new state-of-the-art mailroom located in the Bank's headquarters.

Under the terms of the agreement SNAS/DHL's express and logistics services will support the operations of the bank's branches, ensuring the network operates seamlessly throughout the Kingdom and that customers receive the same quality of service regardless of their location.

A tie-up has existed between SNAS/DHL and NCB for more than 25 years but the latest deal puts the seal on a multi-phased agreement to extend the partnership. The initiative to incorporate NCB's branches into the agreement marks the final phase of a project that began in 1980 to utilise SNAS/DHL's expertise to transform the scope of the bank's services.

'The new agreement signed by SNAS/DHL Saudi Arabia and NCB will benefit consumers in many different ways. It is also beneficial for both companies, ensuring each continues to enjoy growth fuelled by wider access to the rural population,' explained Phil Couchman, DHL Regional Director.

Khaldoun Farhat, Senior Advantage Account Manager, SNAS/DHL said: 'NCB will be able to make cost savings, increase efficiency by speeding up deliveries and pick-ups, and guarantee the security of its mail. This should lead to greater customer satisfaction and a better standard of service and quality all round.'

Patrick Frith, National Commercial and Logistics Manager said: 'SNAS/DHL will gain from greater access to a wider population, as many of NCB's branches are in rural areas that have limited infrastructure or facilities.'

The benefits of the co-operation between the two have already begun to show through the increased cooperation that will emerge from this latest agreement. Use of SNAS/DHL's services and expertise delivery will allow NCB to trim its own parcels and mail division.

The guaranteed security of SNAS/DHL's services has been a significant factor for NCB, as it needs to be for any banking operation. "Security is important to our business," said Ibrahim Jaar, NCB National Administrations Manager. 'We could not function effectively without a guaranteed, safe, secure and fast delivery service."
