GeoPost opens new DPD depot in Rijsen, Netherlands
GeoPost has opened a new DPD depot at the Dutch town of Rijsen, its 14th location in the Benelux region. The new facility, covering 3,000 sqm, is meant to facilitate DPD parcel delivery in the easternmost part of the Netherlands, which was previously served from Bad Bentheim in neighbouring Germany. The depot will handle up to 4,000 parcels a day with capacity to expand to 10,000 parcels a day.
The new depot gives parcels and express carrier DPD “even better coverage of the whole country”, said Bernhard Reusch, CEO Benelux for GeoPost. “The new depot rounds off our growth strategy nicely.” Rijsen is the ninth DPD depot in the Netherlands and the 14th in the whole Benelux area.
DPD Nederland is a 100 per cent subsidiary of GeoPost, the express arm of the French national postal company La Poste.
