New appointment for sennder to help “find synergies with its other core European markets”
European digital freight forwarder, sennder, has appointed Anthony Guillouet as Managing Director of France. Anthony will help sennder double down on its growth in France.
He takes over from Maxime Legardez, former Managing Director of sennder France and founder of Everoad.
Anthony brings over 20 years of experience to the business. He has held various roles at DB Schenker, most recently working as the Land Sales Director & Head of Road Brokerage, where he oversaw a team of 450 chartering and sales personnel in France.
sennder acquired French-business Everoad in June 2020 – since the transaction closed, the combined business has experienced double digit percentage growth. Anthony’s focus is to build on sennder‘s strong French market position by working closely with the company’s seven other European offices to scale its network and proprietary technology.
France accounts for 10.7% of total road freight revenues in Europe and is a key geography for European transport and one of sennder’s core markets. Europe has a fragmented trucking market, with its top five largest road freight businesses managing less than 5% of the total loads.
Technology has a critical role to play in reducing industry inefficiencies. In France and across Europe, sennder has successfully scaled its digital platform that connects commercial shippers with carriers. sennder is investing heavily in real-time tracking and tracing to give shippers greater visibility of the transportation process and carriers better access to return loads, reducing empty kilometres.
Anthony Guillouet says: “I am delighted to join sennder and contribute to the further development of the company. I will leverage my 20 years of road freight managerial and operational experience to scale sennder’s platform across France and deploy the industry’s latest technology in my home market. We have a fantastic team who have developed an incredible offering for both shippers and carriers that helps them navigate a turbulent freight market, finding loads that are trackable and efficient to deliver.”
He continues: “The need to make transportation more sustainable is one of the biggest challenges facing the freight industry. At sennder, we offer a range of low-carbon solutions including alternative fuels that reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% when compared with fossil diesel.”
Tom Christenson, COO at sennder says: “Many domestic, European and international shipments pass through France, making it a priority market for sennder. I have full faith that Anthony will continue the fantastic work taking place at sennder France, during what is an exciting time for the region. In just a few years, the quality of the technological solutions developed by the sennder team and the strength of our model have enabled us to consolidate our position as the European leader in digital road freight.”
