Association believes Deutsche Post can reduce postage for parcels

The German association for postal services and telecommunications (DVPT) estimates that Deutsche Post, the German national postal services provider, could reduce its parcel prices for private customers by at least 5 per cent. The association called for a consumer-friendly product combining the advantages of parcel postage with the lower prices offered for small packages.

It currently costs at least 7 euros to send a parcel within Germany. A small package, on the other hand, costs just 4.30 euros, but is uninsured and cannot be tracked.
