TNT wins logistics contract from Brazilian GE Plastics

Dutch mail and logistics group TNT NV won a contract to manage a 15,000 sq m warehouse in Brazil from GE Plastics, a division of U.S. General Electric, TNT said on April 18, 2006.

The deal will be carried out by TNT’s logistics unit TNT Logistics.

No financial details were disclosed.

GE Plastics has a plant near Sao Paulo, which makes plastics products for the construction, automotive and medical industries.

TNT Logistics (www.tntlogistics.com) posted sales of 3.5 bln euro ($4.299 bln) with 35,000-strong workforce. The unit manages over 7.0 million sq m of warehouse space and runs several complex transportation networks.
