DPD Portugal has announced a new delivery service – DPD Now – in partnership with Stuart, the on-demand logistics platform of DPDgroup, which now enters Portugal to offer a new, more efficient, fast, convenient and flexible delivery experience.
Through DPD Now, the two companies have come together to provide brands and companies with an on-demand parcel delivery service 1 hour after ordering in the verticals retail and services, for same-day or scheduled deliveries 7 days a week, and slots that extend until 22:00. Customers can now schedule the day they wish to receive their parcel, customizing the service in order to fit it into their daily routines.
The partnership between DPD Portugal and Stuart thus responds to an increase in parcels and, consequently, to the growth in delivery volumes, as a result of the new challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
DPD Now’s service is now available in the areas of Lisbon, Porto, Amadora,Sintra, Cascais, Oeiras and Loures, through a multimodal fleet with 250 vehicles (which include bicycles, mopeds, cars and vans). This partnership foresees, in the future, expanding its area of operation in the country, reaching different cities. In addition, both brands intend to gradually transform their fleet with the acquisition of greener vehicles.
“It is with great satisfaction that we look forward to this partnership between DPD Portugal and Stuart. This new offer is the result of our vision of the evolution of the options offered at the checkout of online sales sites, in order to correspond to the most demanding consumers who do not want to wait to receive their parcel”,
says Olivier Establet, CEO of DPD Portugal.
“More than a vision, this is a reality if we take into account the requests of many customers in this regard, as well as the enthusiastic reactions they expressed to us when we were presented with the new offer at first hand”, he adds.
Guilherme Conde, General Manager of Stuart in Portugal, also underlines the added value of this partnership and of the new service that results from it:
“DPD Portugal is a well-known player in the Portuguese market and, therefore, we are excited about this collaboration and to join forces within our group in order to offer customers an on-demand, same-day and scheduled 1-hour delivery service. We feel energetic about this collaboration and the steps we will make together. We believe the market is getting more and more used to flexibility and faster deliveries and we want to provide a strong value proposition with the service Now.”
Regarding the use of this service, the first step will be to register the parcel on the DPD portal or DPDShip. After this step, the system generates and assigns couriers for the order placed. Through the smartphone application, the customer can follow the orders from the moment of collection to delivery. In addition, they will receive real-time SMS notifications regarding the delivery status (pick-up, in-delivery and delivered). In the end, the customer just needs to leave his signature on the application and enjoy his parcel.
Stuart, founded in 2015 and acquired in 2017 by the DPDgroup, aims to revolutionize the delivery of parcels in various urban areas and responding to current social and environmental challenges. Simplicity is one of the integral aspects of the service provided by Stuart, distinguishing it from other delivery services, both in terms of its working methodology and the delivery model. Stuart is not a marketplace, we offer delivery services to companies, allowing them to keep a direct relation with their customers.
Stuart has an expansion plan with ambitious goals to provide the best delivery service to Portuguese consumers.
DPD Now, a service that joins Stuart and DPD Portugal, will start by making deliveries in the areas of Lisbon, Porto, Amadora, Sintra, Cascais, Oeiras and Loures, but will soon expand to other cities in the country. The service will allow customers to send parcels from stores in the surrounding area, with same-day or next-day delivery.
In addition, Stuart operates directly in the food segment.
