Palletforce aims to be no. 2

Palletforece will overtake Palletline and Pall-Ex within the next 18 months to become the second largest pallet network by volume, chief executive Mick Scarlett told MT last week.
Speaking at Palletforces annual member awards in London, Scarlett said the network set a new record last week when it hit 7,000 pallets a night.
‘We are about 1,000 pallets a night behind Pall-Ex at the moment but we are continually attracting quality depots and going from strength to strength’ said Scarlett.
Palletforce has recently added 5 new depots from other networks. The newcomers include N Wales based Baines Transport which joined from United Pallet Network. The existing member has ‘consolidated‘ it area. Scarlett declined to name the other recruits.
Implementation of the new IT system, Pin Point, is on schedule and will be completed in October. ‘We are still in the process of rolling out across the depots, but its on target, within budget and there have been no major problems‘ Scarlett said.
