Baltic Logistic System Vilnius to bring services under one brand

Parcel delivery company Baltic Logistic System Vilnius (BLS Vilnius) has decided to stop using its Bizpak brand and instead bring all of its services under one brand, DPD, starting this autumn.

The company said the change was aimed at strengthening its market position by providing high-quality, reliable parcel delivery services throughout Europe and, at the same time, simplifying customer service procedures.

“The objective of our decision to bring all of our services under one brand is to make sure that Lithuanian businesses expanding their operations abroad know that they can purchase all parcel delivery services from one provider,” Gintaras Bingelis, BLS Vilnius’ sales and marketing director for the Baltic countries, said in a statement.

Bingelis said that another reason was that the company was part of DPD, one of the largest parcel delivery networks in Europe.

“Being part of a brand that is well known across Europe will provide us with more opportunities to increase the awareness of our company and its services,” he said.

The company expects to complete the rebranding process by 2008.

BLS Vilnius posted a 39 percent growth in sales in 2005 to 27.6 million litas (EUR 8 mln). It delivered 1.6 million parcels last year, a one-third increase from 2004 and twice the amount in 2003.

GeoPost, Europe’s third-biggest express parcel delivery company, bought a 100 percent stake in BLS Vilnius in May 2004. GeoPost owns the DPD network, which covers more than 30 countries.
