DHL 2-Mann-Handling: We have recorded pleasing double-digit percentage growth

DHL 2-Mann-Handling opened a new logistics location in Landsberg (Saxony-Anhalt) on February 1, 2023 to create additional handling capacities for large and bulky goods, e.g. furniture of large business customers from the region and Eastern Europe.

In the future, around 70 employees of the new cooperation partner Maintrans Solutions will process up to 7,000 packaging units (colli) per day on a site area of approx. 33,000 m² and a storage area of around 12,100 m² in two-shift operation and prepare them for delivery to end customers. In addition to the central multi-customer location in Ludwigsau, Landsberg is the second hub of DHL 2-man handling, the subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL Group in the Post & Parcel Germany division, which specializes in large and bulky goods.

Beate Seeher, Managing Director of DHL 2-Mann-Handling GmbH, says: “In the last two years, we have recorded pleasing double-digit percentage growth. More and more customers are ordering goods such as furniture, washing machines or TVs online, and we expect this trend to continue. Our new logistics location in Landsberg with its attractive location in the city triangle of Halle (Saale), Leipzig and Bitterfeld-Wolfen will enable us to handle these additional volumes in faster throughput times and thus forms the basis for further growth.”

Brenda Klee, Member of the Management Board of Maintrans Group, is positive about the cooperation: “E-commerce and online mail order are strategic growth markets for the Maintrans Group. We develop and implement tailor-made customer solutions in the field of cross-docking, sorting and last-mile operations. We are very pleased that our cross-dock concept at the Landsberg site DHL 2-mann-Handling GmbH was convincing and that we are implementing the project together.”

DHL 2-man-handling specializes in the transport and delivery of large and bulky goods and employs a total of around 400 people in Germany. From the central hub in Ludwigsau and now also from the additional location in Landsberg, more than 30 regional DHL base partners throughout Germany are supplied with shipments every day. The delivery then takes place after prior telephone appointment notification to a delivery location desired by the end customer, if necessary also with assembly.

The new logistics location of DHL 2-man-Handling in Landsberg replaces the previous hub operated by Metro Logistics in Reichenbach (Thuringia) due to the higher capacities and the even better location.
