Clevon offering autonomous package delivery service in Northlake, Texas
Estonia-based Clevon has announced that it has teamed up with PostNet Northlake to launch a commercial autonomous package delivery service in Northlake, Texas.
Clevon manufactures the Autonomous Robot Carriers (ARCs) and uses them to service customers of PostNet, which provides mailbox and package handling services for the residents and businesses in the Northlake community.
In a statement issued last Friday (21 July), Clevon said that the autonomous delivery service has been tested over a few weeks, and local residents who live within a few miles radius of the PostNet office at 100 Plaza Place have been able to get their parcels delivered by the ARCs.
The ARCs currently operate from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. As Clevon scales the ARC delivery services with PostNet Northlake, new additional services can be provided using the technology – like food and grocery deliveries.
Sander Sebastian Agur, Clevon’s chief executive officer, said: “Clevon’s ARCs are transforming how goods are transported and delivered locally, leading to greater convenience and less expense, reduced energy consumption, and improved environmental outcomes. This partnership demonstrates how the future of the last mile deliveries can be experienced already today.”
Gary L Good, multi-unit PostNet owner, added: “We are excited to offer this convenience to the PostNet Northlake community. With the ARC, our customers who appreciate the secure, centralized receipt of mail and packages for their families and/or businesses can watch the ARC deliver straight to their doors. Moreover, customers who run home-based businesses can streamline their busy days by having the ARC securely retrieve their packages and bring them safely to PostNet Northlake. We want to be the problem solvers for our customers’ pain points, and having the Clevon ARC help us do that is amazing.”
Clevon’s U.S. headquarters are at the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone (MIZ) in Fort Worth, where the company continues to commercialize its autonomous technology.
