TNT wins Ikea catalogue distribution contract

TNT Post has won the GBP 2m-plus contract to distribute Ikea’s catalogues to UK households over the next year and will, for the first time, be the sole distributor.

TNT, which has worked with the furniture retailer since 1992, has always shared contracts with other distributors; it worked with a company called Deya in the last contract. It has been awarded sole supplier status following a lengthy tender process earlier this year.

The new edition of the catalogue is to go out to 13.3m households in the next month through TNT’s Solus doordrop service.

The service uses TNT’s Team Network, a national field force of 8,000 distributors, directed by more than 150 full-time area managers.
