Australia Post: An extra delivery day is great news for consumers in Melbourne

Australia Post Metro customers lodging on a Friday in Melbourne will now be able to provide consumers with Saturday deliveries to most residential addresses and Australia Post Parcel Lockers within Australia Post Metro’s network in Melbourne.  This is part of a trial to expand the popular Australia Post Metro service.

Saturday deliveries will provide Melbourne consumers who shop from merchants using the Australia Post Metro service with greater flexibility and convenience, allowing them to purchase eligible items on a Friday and have them delivered the next day.

Gary Starr, Executive General Manager Parcel, Post and eCommerce Services emphasised Australia Post’s dedication to improving the customer experience and its agility in adapting its delivery network to meet changing consumer demands.

“An extra delivery day is great news for consumers in Melbourne, reinforcing our commitment to providing them with greater certainty, simplicity, and speed when they order online – elements we recognise are crucial for online shoppers.”

“In less than six months since the launch of Australia Post Metro, we have successfully delivered more than one million parcels and we anticipate an exponential increase in this figure as demand for this product grows and new retail partners come on board.”

Some of the Australia Post Metro customers in Melbourne include Myer, Big W, Super Retail Group, Adore Beauty, Frank Green and Kogan.

Australia Post Metro is currently available to certain online merchants sending from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast to addresses in their respective metro areas.

Following the Saturday delivery trial in Melbourne Australia Post will look to expand the trial to other states.
