sennder expands its management team
European digital road freight forwarder, sennder, today announces Susanne Schroeter-Crossan has joined the company as new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The experienced manager will lead sennder’s financial department moving forward. Susanne Schroeter-Crossan takes over the role from Amir Avraham, sennder’s former CFO, who has built up the finance department over the past five years.
With a career spanning notable roles at leading financial institutions and listed companies, including Zalando SE, HelloFresh SE, and LEG Immobilien SE, Susanne Schroeter-Crossan brings extensive expertise in financial management, ESG and corporate governance to sennder. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for all aspects of financial performance management and reporting for listed companies.
As Chairwoman of the Diversity & Inclusion and Sustainability Committee at Zalando SE and as a member of the ESG Committee at HelloFresh SE, she demonstrates her expertise in the areas of sustainability and corporate governance. Her impact at LEG Immobilien SE included serving on the ESG Steering Committee, where she played a critical role in integrating sustainable practices. This experience, coupled with her earlier roles at Deutsche Bank AG and Morgan Stanley, positions her as a targeted fit for sennder’s strategic agenda for the next phase of sustainable growth.
David Nothacker, Chief Executive Officer, sennder says: “We are proud to welcome Susanne as CFO, who joins us at an exciting moment for the business and the industry. She brings a breadth of financial and ESG expertise from a multitude of relevant industries as we continue to expand our management team to advance on our path to profitable growth and build upon the strong entrepreneurial culture at sennder, in order to create long-term value for shippers, carriers, the industry, and our investors. I also want to again say thank you to Amir Avraham, on behalf of the entire company, for his invaluable contributions as CFO over the past 5 years. The announced setup will enable us to further advance our growth ambition to become Europe’s largest FTL freight forwarder. sennder continues to focus on three strategic dimensions: growing our customer base and deepening existing relationships; leveraging technology and data to bring a new level of efficiency to the industry; and driving the transition to green transport.”
Susanne Schroeter-Crossan, Chief Financial Officer, sennder, says: “I am thrilled to join the sennder team and engage with our stakeholders in driving the company’s impressive legacy of innovation forward. sennder boasts a remarkable team, fostering a culture that drives transformative change in the logistics sector. My aim is to harness sennder’s cutting-edge, data-centric methods to expedite our journey to profitable growth, while scaling our financial, ESG, and corporate governance frameworks. I am particularly eager to apply my ESG expertise to address the challenges of the fragmented FTL industry, characterised by excessive empty kilometers, an ageing driver demographic, and increasingly demanding conditions for drivers. Together, we will work towards establishing a more efficient and sustainable road freight network across Europe.”
