DHL Qatar named Best Agent of British Airways World Cargo

DHL Qatar, part of the international express and logistics solutions provider DHL, was awarded Best Agent prize of the British Airways World Cargo division, it was reported on August 23, 2006.

The award reflects DHL Qatar’s contribution to the growth of the commercial exchange between Qatar and the UK.

DHL Qatar recently launched an expansion investment plan worth 10 mln riyals (USD 2.75 mln/2.15 mln euro), aimed at widening its outlet network and innovating its express services.

Time Definite, which provides door-to-door delivery by an appointed time, is the most popular service among Qatari residents, the company said.

DHL (www.dhl.com), fully owned by Deutsche Post World Net since 2002, opened its first office in Qatar in 1979. At present, DHL Qatar employs 97 people and operates more than 25 trucks.

DHL provides logistic services for 50 pct of the companies in the Forbes 500 list.
