The new space responds to the growth in activity that DPD has been seeing in Portugal, after reaching its best year ever in 2023, surpassing the historic milestone of €101 million in turnover, standing out as one of the countries in which Geopost grew the most last year.

And we believe that this will be an important step for us to continue growing in Portugal, where we hope to close the year with growth of around 13%, reaching €115M in revenue”,

The new hub has a total area of 12,000 square meters (m2): 3,100 m2 of offices, intended for the 140 people responsible for the administrative part of the company, and a 9,000 m2 warehouse, where 230 employees operate, responsible for sorting and distributing orders. . The new space, with a total area of 12,000 square meters, will now bring together in the same location the company’s headquarters and its respective operations in the Greater Lisbon area – currently located in São João da Talha (Loures) and Olivais (Lisbon) – making this hub is not only the largest in DPD in Portugal, but also in the country. Its investment is around €30 million and is an affirmation of DPD’s continued investment in innovative technology: the hub has a sorting machine with a unique crossbelt system in Portugal which, through its 405 meters of length, is able to manage more than 10,000 parcels per hour, destined for Lisbon area: Lisbon, Odivelas, Loures, Vila Franca de Xira, Mafra, Torres Vedras, Alenquer, Carregado.
The building has one of the highest Breeam Excellent certifications – an international assessment system developed by BRE (Building Research Establishment), which allows the degree of environmental sustainability of buildings to be measured – and offers 120 electrical charging stations, something essential for DPD, taking into account its commitment to sustainability and the decarbonization process of its fleet. Remember that Lisbon has had all of its delivery carried out using electric vehicles since 2021 and Porto since 2023.
