Austrian Post announces special opening times of post offices during peak

Austrian Post to give its customers extra time for last minute errands and the use of postal services.

Every year, the Christmas season means high season for Austrian Post, with millions of Christmas greetings and gifts being sent every day so that they land in Austrians’ mailboxes or under the Christmas tree in time. To ensure that all parcels and letters arrive on time, Austrian Post points out the Christmas shipping deadlines. These are as follows:

For parcels and Post Express shipments to third countries, the processing time of customs should also be taken into account. In general, Austrian Post recommends planning a time buffer when sending and sending it early due to the high volume of consignments.

Austrian Post’s delivery staff are also on duty nationwide on Christmas Saturdays and deliver parcels throughout Austria. On Tuesday, December 24, parcels will be delivered until 12 noon. By then at the latest, every gift should really be under the Christmas tree.

Austrian POST PARTNERS AND POST OFFICES: SPECIAL OPENING HOURS BEFORE CHRISTMAS
To ensure that the last parcels can still be picked up before Christmas, most post offices in Austria will be open at least from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, and even from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, December 23. On Tuesday, December 24, all post offices will be open at least from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The postal partners are also well prepared for the Christmas season and the high volume of parcels. More than half of the postal partners will also be open on Christmas days, and the majority will also be open half-day on Tuesday, 24 December.
