GLS Hungary: parcel lockers ensure we can meet a wide range of requirements and needs

GLS Hungary and KEBA rolled out their 2,000th parcel station was successfully in December 2024. GLS Hungary has been using KEBA parcel stations since 2021.

Balázs Jászka, Head of OOH Network at GLS Hungary, comments on the increased use of parcel lockers: “While the majority of our parcels are still delivered directly to homes, we are seeing a significant year-overyear shift in traffic towards parcel lockers as our network expands.”

By offering a parcel locker network, GLS Hungary aims to provide another option for its customers in addition to its ParcelShop network with over 1,050 shops: “The combination of parcel shops and parcel lockers offers a practical, versatile and flexible delivery and collection system that ensures we can meet a wide range of requirements and needs. The focus is on increasing customer satisfaction and offering solutions that match ever-changing consumer habits and lifestyles. For example, the parcel lockers’ main times of use – evenings and weekends – show us how adaptable they are to different lifestyles.”

Tailored solutions
GLS Hungary opted for KEBA as a partner, which as an all-in-one-provider offers the entire solutions comprising hardware, software and service including rollout and trainings. This approach simplifies the coordination of implementation, reduces administrative tasks, and streamlines communication. KEBA’s comprehensive portfolio allows customers to flexibly choose what meets their needs. This adaptability is essential, as different customer situations require different solutions and approaches.

The flexible and reliable parcel lockers are designed to be individually adaptable, scalable, and future proof. GLS Hungary selected a hybrid approach when setting up the parcel locker network, using both standard and customized components.

Balázs Jászka reports: “We chose KEBA as the supplier because its high-quality products are known for their durability and reliability. This is crucial for the smooth and efficient running of the services offered by GLS. In addition, KEBA offers excellent customer support, which helps to solve problems quickly and effectively, thereby increasing user satisfaction. The commitment to quality and customer service made KEBA the clear choice for our parcel locker network.”

Thanks to the close cooperation between GLS Hungary and KEBA, the project was a complete success. Balázs Jászka adds: “I am absolutely satisfied with the project implementation. The process went smoothly and met all our expectations. In addition, we still receive support from the project team, which is invaluable as it allows us to make any necessary adjustments or improvements. This ongoing support ensures that our service remains efficient.”

The implementation of a parcel locker network was a strategic decision by GLS Hungary that has proven to be extremely successful. The result of the cooperation with KEBA: a user-friendly and reliable solution that greatly benefits both GLS Hungary and end consumers. The positive response and the increasing demand for further installations – especially in more rural areas – show that customers appreciate the convenience and flexibility of the parcel lockers.

Balázs Jászka concludes: “Looking to the future, we will continue to identify innovative ways to optimize our service and meet the changing needs of our customers. In doing so, we hope to continue our proven cooperation with KEBA.”
