DHL to inaugurate new DHL head office in Tel Aviv near the international Ben Gurion airport

Yesterday DHL Israel inaugurated its new head office and service center in the new Airport City compound in Tel Aviv, near the International Ben Gurion Airport. Besides more than 200 customers, officials and employees, John Mullen, CEO DHL Express, and Ken Allen, CEO DHL’s Express EMA region (emerging markets) participated in the opening ceremony. “I am very excited to be in Israel as it is an important and successful office of DHL. Israel’s growing economy offers many business opportunities for our company. With the opening of this new state-of-the-art-facility DHL will assure its leading market position”, mentioned John Mullen.

The new DHL head office and service center offers the company’s 470 employees an up to date working environment with state of the art IT technology. It will also serve the company’s growing client base by improving even more the efficiency of working procedures.

The new building consist of 7,600 square meters, out of which 2,600 square meters form the operating area with 40 entrances for cargo vehicles and two entrances for semi-trailers. The new facility will displace the company’s four service centers based in Jerusalem, Dan, Tel Aviv and Glil Yam. Located next to major traffic routes and a blink away from the companies own airport hangar DHL customers will benefit from improved pick up & delivery hours, security standards and service levels.

The DHL center will also set a new level of creativity: People arriving by air to Tel Aviv will be welcomed to DHL by the largest billboard in Israel. The 1,650 square meters roof of the service center is paved with red and yellow tiles creating the DHL logo. This logo can be seen from almost every incoming flight as it is on the landing route to the International Ben Gurion Airport.

David Bondi, DHL Israel CEO: “The relocation to our new home marks the end of a thoroughly planned process that’s its goal was to deal with all of the new challenges that we foresee in our market in the upcoming years. We already have launched a daily flight from BRU to TLV via Bergamo and new services and updated our IT systems and technology infrastructure to even better serve our clients. Now, with the inauguration of the DHL Center we announce the beginning of a new and exciting time for DHL Israel”.
