Purolator: We know customers expect hassle-free returns

Purolator has announced it will launch Open Verify: an innovative returns solution to help businesses combat fraud.

Using the purpose-built, end-to-end returns management system from technology partner ReverseLogix, this new solution, launching in February, will streamline and add some safeguards to the returns process for both merchants and customers.

Returns fraud is a prevalent issue in Canada, with the Retail Council of Canada reporting a 22 per cent increase between 2020 and 2022. According to the National Retail Federation, in 2023 it was estimated the amount of fraud accounts for 13.7 per cent of total returns and costs retailers $101B in the US alone.

“We’re excited to be launching a new returns solution for our customers,” said Laurie Weston, General Manager B2C and E Commerce. “By reviewing the contents of a package at the initial point of return, this system helps protect our customers from the growing issue of returns fraud, while also allowing their customers to receive an instant credit or refund.

Open Verify is just one of many streamlined returns management solutions Purolator offers to businesses, including an integrated, customizable returns portal for e-commerce platforms and premium services like package and label free capabilities.

With an expanding network of locations and partnerships, 75 per cent of Canadians live within three kilometres of a Purolator drop-off location, ensuring quick and easy returns for businesses and their customers.

“We know customers expect hassle-free returns. That’s why we have invested heavily in both our technology and operations capability to provide a range of solutions to businesses looking for a competitive advantage,” said Weston.

By partnering with ReverseLogix, Purolator will use the company’s exclusive Returns Management System to initiate, sort, process and consolidate returned products to each merchant, delivering even more cost savings and efficiencies.

“This partnership is a win-win-win for Purolator customers: More cost-efficient shipments, help with fraud prevention, and contributing to a greener supply chain,” said Gaurav Saran, CEO of ReverseLogix. “ We’re proud to partner with Purolator who is working proactively to lessen the impact of product returns on business operations and the planet, all while serving customers even better.”
