Post Business Solutions invests in technology to help with peak loads

Post Business Solutions, a subsidiary of Austrian Post AG, has invested a substantial amount of five million euros in the acquisition of new printing and inserting machines for transactional printing.

The new machines enable a processing process that is twice as fast, with increased print quality and savings in ink application at the same time. The additional printing press alone creates a monthly volume of up to 85 million DIN A4 pages. More than 500 medium-sized and large business customers in Austria – mainly banks, insurance companies and energy providers – continuously benefit from Business Solutions’ investments in state-of-the-art machinery and technologies.

With the Canon ColorStream 8160, Post Business Solutions is expanding its machine park with a state-of-the-art printing press with an impressive resolution of 1,200 dpi. The digital colour printing and inkjet web printing system achieves twice the print resolution compared to conventional machines. For double-sided printing, the new press can quickly produce more than 2,150 pages per minute. In total, it enables a monthly print volume of up to 85 million DIN A4 pages in simplex and duplex mode. Together with three new inserting machines from the BÖWE SYSTEC Austria brand, the available capacity will be significantly increased in order to better compensate for peak loads in the high season.

Walter Oblin, CEO of Austrian Post, sees the new acquisitions as a smart investment in the future: “With these machines, we can offer our customers the highest possible standard for every printed page. Steps like these help to strengthen Austria as a production location and keep it competitive in the future. I am proud of this innovative and future-oriented development.”
