Austria Post: we are not only getting even closer to the people, but also revitalising business premises

Österreichische Post AG is massively expanding its self-service locationsfor 24/7 pick-up of parcels in Vienna.
This year, around 25 new self-service branches, 10 new large post offices and around 3,000 additional post office boxes will be built. This 24/7 offensive was announced at the official opening of the newest self-service branch in the 5th district.
“We want to offer all Viennese a post office close by, and thus meet the customer’s need to be able to receive online orders at any time and at the desired location. Last year alone, we processed almost nine million parcels in Vienna via this infrastructure, and the trend is rising. With our 24/7 Vienna 2025 offensive around post boxes, post stations and self-service branches, we are not only getting even closer to the people, but also revitalising base zones and business premises,” explains Walter Oblin, CEO of Österreichische Post AG.
“The new self-service branch in Margareten is an asset for our district. It enables people to pick up parcels flexibly and conveniently around the clock – right in their neighbourhood. At the same time, it enlivens the neighbourhood and brings more frequency to the surrounding area,” says Silvia Janković, head of the Vienna-Margareten district.
