FedEx “simplifies the import process” with new tool

FedEx has introduced the Collaborative Shipping Tool, a solution that facilitates seamless collaboration between importers and shippers during the creation of Airway Bills (AWB), ensuring a smoother and more efficient shipping experience.

Singapore’s total import value surged to S$56.6 billion in December 2024, marking a 24% year-on-year increase. With Asia’s imports projected to grow by 5.1% in 2025, importers continue to face challenges such as failed pickups and limited shipment visibility. The Shipping Tool has been designed to address these issues and simplify the import process for customers.

This shipping tool allows importers to share the Airway Bill (AWB) creation process directly with shippers, enabling them to confirm shipment details and schedule pickups based on their readiness. This collaborative feature is designed to improve the success rate of shipment pickups, ensuring greater efficiency in the import journey.

Commenting on this launch, Eric Tan, Managing Director, FedEx Express Singapore, said, “With Singapore’s position as a global trade hub, businesses here require seamless and efficient logistics solutions to stay ahead in an evolving marketplace. The Collaborative Shipping tool empowers importers with greater control and transparency. By simplifying the import process and improving shipment visibility, we’re helping businesses enhance operational efficiency and strengthen their supply chains for success.”

Collaborative Shipping Tool is available to all FedEx import customers in Asia Pacific, Europe, United States, Canada, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa, enabling seamless collaboration with their global shippers. This addition also complements the company’s other digital solutions like the FedEx Import Tool, which simplifies the entire import process by offering customers a comprehensive suite of options to manage their import shipments. Together, these innovations reinforce the FedEx commitment of enhancing the import experience for its customers and improving overall logistics efficiency.
