Austria Post to roll out 100 new 24/7 Post Offices in front of SPAR stores
SPAR Austria and Österreichische Post AG are launching a cooperation to set up 24/7 post stations in front of SPAR stores. Austrians can thus conveniently combine grocery shopping with the collection or dispatch of parcels. In the next few months, well over 100 new 24/7 post stations will be built in front of SPAR stores throughout Austria.
Hans K. Reisch, CEO, SPAR AG: “Being able to do as many errands as possible in one place is practical, saves time and thus increases the quality of life of the local population. That is our goal. We are therefore pleased about the new cooperation with Austrian Post and at over 100 postal parcel stations in front of our SPAR stores. We are starting in the east and south of Austria, and we are planning to roll it out to the whole of Austria.”
Walter Oblin, CEO of Österreichische Post AG: “With more than 100 new post stations in front of SPAR stores, we are setting another milestone in our digitization and service offensive. Customers benefit from maximum flexibility and can conveniently combine their postal business with shopping. At the same time, we are strengthening local supply throughout Austria and creating a modern infrastructure that makes everyday life easier.”
The joint commissioning of the 24/7 post office in front of the EUROSPAR store in Vienna-Meidling, Sagedergasse 13, marks the official start of the cooperation. The post office has almost 140 compartments and is located in the car park directly in front of the building. It is now accessible around the clock for the collection or dispatch of pre-franked parcels (return label or parcel stamp).
The cooperation between SPAR and AustrianPost will be rolled out continuously over the next few months. The first concrete locations for new 24/7 post stations have already been determined and will be installed in the coming weeks. Below is an overview of the first locations in the federal states:
