UK Postbox integrates Royal Mail Parcel Lockers into its mail forwarding service

UK Postbox, a UK-based digital mail and parcel management company serving individuals, businesses, and public sector organisations, has introduced a new feature enabling customers to forward letters and parcels directly to Royal Mail Parcel Lockers.

Operating from its processing centre in Dorset, UK Postbox combines digital mail management with traditional postal and courier operations. Through its online platform, users can view incoming mail items, request scanning, forwarding, storage, or secure disposal, and now select a Royal Mail Parcel Locker as a forwarding destination.

The development team at UK Postbox worked with the Royal Mail Local Collect API to provide full access to the nationwide network of parcel lockers. The integration also enables customers to receive live delivery updates directly from Royal Mail once an item is dispatched.
Allan Chester, Chief Executive Officer of UK Postbox, said the new feature reflects the company’s ongoing focus on convenience and operational efficiency: “Parcel lockers offer both security and flexibility, and this integration allows our users to benefit from those advantages without leaving the UK Postbox platform. It’s a practical step forward for customers who rely on us to manage their mail remotely.”

The new locker forwarding option has seen early adoption from a range of users, including e-retailers and private limited companies that handle regular shipments of goods or important business documents. In several cases, organisations are using lockers for forwarding sensitive items such as contracts, identity documents, or company credit cards, where proof of delivery is essential. In addition for e-retailers, the ability to forward parcels to Royal Mail lockers provides verifiable delivery and helps reduce ‘item not received’ chargebacks.
Customers are advised to wait for confirmation of delivery before attempting to access a locker, as opening a locker prematurely can prevent retrieval once it has been closed. In instances where a locker is full, Royal Mail automatically reattempts delivery and notifies the customer when the item has been successfully placed.

UK Postbox forwards the majority of its mail within the UK, while also supporting customers in markets including the United States, China, Italy, Australia, and Saudi Arabia. Royal Mail’s parcel locker network, launched in 2024, continues to expand in line with increasing
demand for 24/7 delivery solutions across both consumer and business markets. Allan Chester added that further locker integrations are planned for release by the end of Q1 2026.
