Geopost: we’re building Europe’s most up-to-date and scalable street-level imagery platform
Geopost has announced the launch of Geopost Vision, a new entity designed to unlock the value of real-time road data collected by its extensive delivery fleet. The venture will support partners across mapping, smart mobility, automotive systems, urban planning, and infrastructure development.
By equipping delivery vehicles with state-of-the-art camera technology, Geopost Vision is creating one of Europe’s most up-to-date and scalable street-level imagery platforms.
Geopost operates 65,000 vehicles across 22 countries, covering more than 2 billion kilometres each year. Through Geopost Vision, several thousand vehicles from brands including DPD, SEUR, BRT, and Chronopost are now fitted with connected, advanced dashcams.
As these vehicles follow their normal delivery routes, they passively and continually collect anonymized street-level imagery—turning every delivery tour into an opportunity to map Europe’s evolving streetscape.
The data, accessible via API, provides clients with fresh, high-frequency insights useful for:
-
Mapping updates and road network validation
-
ADAS and autonomous vehicle training
-
Road condition monitoring
-
Smart-city and urban-planning applications
-
Insurance risk assessment and claims validation
-
Location intelligence and consulting
Geopost Vision adheres to the strictest privacy and data-protection standards.
All imagery undergoes rigorous anonymization to remove personal identifiers such as faces and license plates. No raw imagery is made publicly available; instead, customers receive only compliant, object-level insights (e.g., road signs, speed limits, traffic lights).
Geopost Vision already provides imagery in 11 countries:
UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Ireland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Netherlands.
By mid-2026, coverage will expand to 21 European countries, with additional deployment in:
Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania.
“By harnessing Geopost’s unmatched delivery network and state-of-the-art camera technology, we’re building Europe’s most up-to-date and scalable street-level imagery platform—providing access to GDPR-compliant data that can enhance navigation, improve road safety, and support better urban infrastructure,” said Martin Calmels, CEO of Geopost Vision.
The launch reinforces Geopost’s commitment to advancing resilient, data-driven infrastructure that benefits drivers, technology platforms, cities, and citizens across Europe.
