TNT giving generously

The UK’s leading business-to-business express delivery company has once again been named as one of the country’s most caring companies with the news that TNT Express Services figure prominently in a list of the country’s most generous givers to charitable organisations.

The company features in an elite group of 141companies that donate at least one per cent of their pre-tax profits to worthy causes. This qualifies each company to feature in the ‘PerCent Standard’ – a list of top corporate benefactors complied by the Business in the Community organisation.

The recognition is designed to encourage commercial organisations to embrace the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility and put something back into the communities in which business and industry operates.

Tom Bell, Managing Director of TNT Express Services in the UK & Ireland said: “I am immensely proud of our leading, and sustained, role in making a positive contribution to communities the length and breadth of Britain.

“Good corporate citizenship is a must in the modern business world and we take our responsibilities very seriously. We place a strong emphasis on cultivating partnerships with charities that help young people fulfill their potential and with organisations that rely on effective transport networks.”

The TNT donation does not include the money raised by the company’s employees, customers, contractors and suppliers in relation to Wooden Spoon and the World Food Programme.

Catherine Sermon, Director of Community Investment Campaigns at Business in the Community said that in the past 20 years, TNT Express Services and like-minded companies in the ‘PerCent Standard’ had given almost a billion pounds to charity in cash, gifts in kind or employee volunteering time.
