DHL wins Asia’s Platinum Award for the third straight year
DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, announced today it has won the highly coveted and prestigious Asia Platinum Award for the third consecutive year in the Airfreight/Courier Service category at the ninth annual ‘Trusted Brand Awards 2007’ organized by Reader’s Digest.
DHL is the first and only company to be awarded the Platinum Award for the Asia region for three consecutive years and in Hong Kong for four consecutive years, since the Airfreight/Courier Service category was introduced in 2004.
DHL improved on its strong performance in 2006, when it garnered three Platinum and five Gold awards. This year, DHL received Platinum Awards in the ‘Trusted Brand Awards’ surveys conducted in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan, as well as Gold Awards in the same surveys carried out in India, Philippines and Thailand. Singapore and Taiwan were the latest countries in which DHL received the Platinum Award.
“DHL is delighted to be voted as Asia’s most Trusted Brand for the third year in a row. We understand the business demands of our customers who are operating in an increasingly competitive business landscape characterized by stiff competition, shorter product lifecycles, as well as changing customer needs,” said Scott Price, Chief Executive Officer, DHL Express Asia Pacific. “We will also continue to offer our customers access to an unrivalled network infrastructure and best-in-class products and services to support their business aspirations and strengthen their competitive positioning.”
The Platinum Award represents the highest honor conferred on a brand in the annual survey. Only brands with a rating score three times the nearest rating score of the next brand, or two times plus reaching a certain average overall quality rating receive the Platinum Award. Gold Awards are given to brands that score clearly above other brands in the category. The survey is conducted by independent research company Nielsen Media Research.
The ‘Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand’ awards are just one of the many prestigious accolades DHL has won over the past few years in recognition of its relentless pursuit to consistently delivering outstanding quality and value to customers. Just last month, DHL won six top awards at the prestigious 2007 Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards (AFSCAs), including the highly coveted Best Express Operator Award category for a record 21st consecutive year.
Reader’s Digest has been conducting its annual consumer brand preference survey for almost a decade, awarding Asia’s top performing brands as voted by consumers. The exhaustive survey is a region-wide initiative covering 43 categories of products and services. The survey is carried out in seven key markets across Asia – Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines – and polls thousands of consumers in each market through questionnaires and telephone interviews. Participants vote for their single favourite brand in the 42 categories of products and services based on six brand attributes – quality, value, innovation, trustworthiness, image, and understanding of customer needs.
