Emirates SkyCargo offers new services to Africa and Subcontinent
The new routes service busy destinations Colombo, Delhi, and Entebbe and will operate on SkyCargo’s A310-300F’s with a capacity of 36,500 kgs.
Freighter services to Delhi, introduced on May 24th will operate on Thursdays. Outbound from Dubai to Delhi the route is expected to deliver telecommunication equipment while imports are expected to include finished leather and garments and Indian domestic products.
The Colombo service which was launched on 13th of May will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Outbound service to Colombo will carry personal effects and general cargo motor spare parts while inbound cargo will consist of garments and vegetables and fish, much of which will go on to Europe.
Finally, the new operations will include a second frequency to Entebbe on Saturdays via Nairobi. Outbound from Dubai the services will carry mainly personal effects while inbound freight will consist of fish and vegetables for Europe.
The services mark what is expected to be an ongoing series of niche capacity freighter operations which will serve certain markets on a requirement-basis with the flexibility that shippers require.
The regular Emirates SkyCargo route network covers 89 destinations in 59 countries. In addition to belly-hold space in Emirates’ scheduled passenger services, Emirates SkyCargo’s fleet of freighters serve 29 markets on a regular basis including four cargo-only destinations.
