New service expands DHL’s service offerings in Asia Pacific
DHL announced the launch of Airport to Door Express, an offering which combines the ease-of-use and speed advantage of DHLwith the transportation requirements of importers under traditional shipping terms.
Airport to Door Express is a specially designed, user-friendly service that meets the needs of customers who import from their overseas suppliers usually using Free Carrier (FCA) Incoterms (International Commercial Terms) that do not require door-to-door transport.
With the Airport to Door Express service, DHL aims to tap into an industry segment that is estimated to account for 50 percent of the total cross-border airfreight market in Asia Pacific.
Customers who pay for their freight costs within a non-integrated transport chain will enjoy the simplicity and control of one point of contact, one fixed price and one invoice for all their import requirements, aligned to their preferred Incoterms. They will also benefit from market-leading transit times of only one to two days for intra-Asia shipments, DHL’s expert customs clearance and 24-hour tracking services.
In addition, customers who use the Airport to Door Express service will also be able to send packages that are not restricted by weight or size limits.
Airport to Door Express is launched in 13 markets in Asia Pacific covering Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. It is anticipated that the product will be expanded to the rest of Asia Pacific and to other regions at a later stage.
