DHL selected as the exclusive courier services provider for the state of Florida

Three-Year, USD 5 Million Contract Extends DHL Express Services to All Florida Agencies and Contractors

DHL announced that the State of Florida Department of Management Services renewed its contract with DHL as the exclusive courier services provider for all State of Florida agencies and institutions. The State of Florida will continue to leverage DHL’s comprehensive portfolio of domestic services – Same Day, Express, and Ground delivery – for deliveries within the State and nationwide.

Thirty-seven State agencies will use DHL for shipping standard letters, reports, boxes, and time sensitive shipments – including government institutions approved to take advantage of State contracts, the Florida State Lottery, State colleges, schools and local and county governments,

Through the new contract, DHL will provide several customized services for the State of Florida including a special visibility program to identify time-sensitive State of Florida shipments and a dedicated 1-800 customer service line for State users. DHL’s regional sort center in Orlando enables the State of Florida to take advantage of one-day delivery of all ground shipments within the State.

Representatives from the State note that DHL has demonstrated excellent relationships with Florida customers, and are extending the DHL contract to ensure Florida agencies, institutions and vendors continue to receive a high quality customer experience from their shipping provider.

Under the contract, DHL will continue to provide time-sensitive deliveries for a number of State agencies, including medications, vaccines and other temperature sensitive shipments for the Florida Department of Health, State pharmacies and labs. DHL’s Controlled Transit Shipment (CTS) program developed for the State enables close monitoring of temperature sensitive shipments to protect them during weather delays or other unforeseen events.

DHL will continue to partner with State agencies and commit resources to ensure the special needs of the State are met. When severe weather and hurricanes hit the State, DHL works closely with a number of State agencies to help residents recover from the storm. Weather related preparedness includes setting up special DHL shipping accounts at temporary sites around-the-State to help resident’s ship applications and receive assistance such as food and lost wages from the State.
