Royal Mail appoints St Ives plc as sole print supplier
Royal Mail today announced it had appointed St Ives plc as the sole supplier to manage all Royal Mail’s print requirements.
The four-year contract follows an extensive market research program and tendering process by Royal Mail involving the UK’s major print and print management companies.
The appointment of St Ives means that instead of a number of different companies providing the wide range of printed material which Royal Mail needs for its operations, one company – St Ives – will now be responsible for managing the procurement and delivery of all Royal Mail’s requirements.
The contract covers printed material for Royal Mail’s letters business as well as paperwork, documents and posters for the Post Office network and stationery, labels and dockets used by Parcelforce Worldwide.
Ray Huntzinger, Managing Director of Royal Mail’s Document Management Services, said: “We’re delighted to appoint St Ives, which impressed us with a proven track record in all sectors of the printed materials market while demonstrating its ability to provide Royal Mail with a single point of contact for all our print requirements. St Ives has also made clear its determination to streamline the delivery of our printed material which will support Royal Mail in its number one priority to deliver excellent service to all our customers.”
The contract covers a wide range of printed material, from office stationery to Royal Mail stamps.
Mr Huntzinger added: “Royal Mail is a major buyer of printed material and we are confident we will see clear efficiency benefits in getting all the company’s print needs from a single source.”
