Correos wins “Infoworld 2007” award
International Data Group announced the winners of its InfoWorld 100 Awards. The annual awards honor IT projects that demonstrate the most creative use of cutting-edge technologies to further their business goals. To be considered, projects must stretch beyond the typical, off-the-shelf solution, and must use multiple technologies in innovative ways to serve well-defined business goals.
The Spanish Correos is one of the 10 companies which was accolade for the Government Solutions awards. This category includes the 20 most innovated projects in the world.
Correos was awarded for the implementation of the RDFI, which allows the company to measure the quality control in all the logistic chain. Correos installed 2,300 aerials and 330 lectors for tracking the letters and parcels. This system allows preventing “bottlenecks” and improves the quality of service and punctuality in the delivery times.
