Deutsche Post supports the UN Convention on Biological Diversity in Bonn
Deutsche Post World Net is actively supporting the UN environmental conference in Bonn, where the parties to the convention on biological diversity will meet from on May 19. A central element of Deutsche Post World Net’s engagement will be supporting the opening event on May 19, which will be attended by UN representatives, German Federal Environmental Minister Sigmar Gabriel and the Mayor of Bonn, Bärbel Dieckmann.
Artists from all over the world will be on stage for an open air concert in Bonn’s Museumsplatz (Museum Square), including Irish singer Bob Geldof. Geldof is not only known as an artist, but also as an organizer of large benefit concerts such as Band Aid and Live Aid that support social projects.
The company is also providing the conference with logistical support and will be setting up a postal retail outlet in the conference center of the Hotel Maritim in Bonn from May 12 to 30. The glass facade of the Post Tower will also light up the evening sky on May 19 as well as during the height of the conference from May 27 to 30 with the number “2010,” which symbolizes the central target of the intergovernmental convention: to achieve by 2010 a significant reduction of the current rate of biodiversity loss around the world.
Deutsche Post World Net is actively supporting the success of the UN environment conference as part of its commitment to the city of Bonn, where ts headquarters is located and as direct part of its own climate protection program, GoGreen.
