DHL launches advertising campaign appealing export strengths
DHL launched an advertising campaign on 20 October that will run across newspaper and magazines through to the end of 2008. The campaign will communicate speedy delivery and increasingly sophisticated services and solutions to highlight DHL’s superiority in exporting capabilities.
This campaign focuses on three DHL services – DHL EXPRESS PALLET, DHL BREAKBULK EXPRESS, and DHL EXPRESS 9:00 / DHL EXPRESS 12:00 – and are focused on communicating the characteristics of these services as well as highlighting the service advantage DHL promises to its customers in an easily comprehensible manner.
The DHL EXPRESS PALLET is a packaging and transport solution specifically designed to match customers’ desired packaging configuration. It’s dedicated to provide the convenience and ease of moving customers’ goods in pallet loads to 220 destinations worldwide.
The Pallet box comes in the form of a cardboard packaging material that combines a box portion and pallet portion, which is able to hold shipments weighing up to 100kg. For customers shipping with wood packaging materials, the cardboard packaging eliminates the need for sterilization of wood—as such saves additional expenses and hassle of acquiring necessary documentations for the destination country’s import regulatory requirements on wood packaging materials. Consequently, customers enjoy the benefits of improved efficiency and increased cost savings in the packaging and shipping of heavyweight shipments.
DHL BREAKBULK EXPRESS is a service that consolidates dutiable shipments bound for multiple destinations and passes them through customs clearance as a single dutiable shipment. After import customs clearance, DHL sorts the shipment into individual shipments and ships them to the final recipient. As documents indicating the declared value are not attached to the individual shipments, shipments can be delivered directly to even final consignees with whom the shipper has indirect business relations. These also lead to transit time as well as inventory-related cost savings. DHL BREAKBULK EXPRESS service is popular among shippers from the manufacturing sector exporting of finished goods and spare parts.
DHL EXPRESS 9:00 / DHL EXPRESS 12:00, is a service that guarantees the delivery of shipments (documents and non-documents) by 9:00 a.m. or midday and also assures customers that they will be notified upon delivery or the entire transportation charges will be refunded should DHL be responsible for a delay in delivery. Since its introduction in 2003, the service has enjoyed high growth. In August, DHL further expanded the scope of the service in terms of area coverage including wider reach throughout Europe and Asia-Pacific region.
DHL will appeal the features of the three services, along with the concept of “When hasso (the idea) changes, hasso (shipping) also changes,” in three phases via newspapers and magazines, which is a witty means to communicating in Japanese that DHL has a shipping solution for every idea / need of the business.
