DHL Global Forwarding announces expansion in Indonesia
DHL Global Forwarding has announced an expansion program in Indonesia that includes opening new offices in Medan and Bali, and the expansion of existing facilities in Balikpapan and Surabaya.
According to Amadou Diallo, CEO for South Asia Pacific, the company has experienced strong double-digit growth rates in Indonesia over the past few years, and will continue to invest in the region.
In addition to the new and expanded offices, DHL Global Forwarding will also invest in increasing and training its workforce, and developing its infrastructure to improve operational efficiency.
DHL Global Forwarding recently restructured its regional business into North Asia Pacific and South Asia Pacific operations. As part of the new South Asia Pacific region, Indonesia will be better placed to develop stronger trade ties and develop better trade lanes with other markets in South Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The company’s current expansion plans build on the recent USD 3 million investment in a facility in Jakarta close to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and not far from the port of Tanjung Priok.
