Building starts on new FedEx hub in the US

New USD 100m distribution hub to open in North Carolina in 2011.

The 400,000-square-foot center is scheduled to open in 2011

Officials are breaking ground on the site of a $100 million FedEx Ground distribution hub in North Carolina. Two centers in Winston-Salem will be consolidated with the new center.

FedEx also is building a $500 million air hub at the Piedmont Triad International Airport. It is expected to open next year and create about 1,500 jobs.

Guilford County commissioners gave FedEx an incentive package worth about $950,000 over three years.
