DPD opens EUR 6.3m Lithuania hub

DPD aims to boost its presence in Lithuania by opening a new head office in the country.

DPD has opened a new EUR 6.3m hub in Lithuania.

The new facility, covering almost 4,000sqm, is the biggest in Lithuania and is capable of sorting and distributing up to 40,000 parcels per working day, DPD Lithuania announced. It incorporates 111 gates for vehicle loading and unloading, and features modern parcel sorting technology.

Moreover, the location of the new terminal, close to the newly-opened southern Vilnius bypass, meant vehicles could use the country’s main road network without having to travel through the capital first, the company said. The new head office is located alongside the terminal.

In addition, DPD Lithuania will be able to use the parcel sorting and distribution technologies in the new terminal to develop additional services especially dedicated to the B2C segment.
