DHL Global Forwarding has opened a new dedicated Life Science Competency Centre in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
The new facility enhances DHL Global Forwarding’s existing service offering, and was specifically designed to meet customer demand for regulatory compliant facilities that offer high security, standardised processes and a clean environment.
According to Archie Torrado, district manager for DHL Global Forwarding, temperature and humidity control rooms will be added to the facility this year.
The new facility has a capacity of more than 70,000 sq.ft of warehouse space and is equipped with the latest technology and security systems.
In June 2008, DHL Global Forwarding announced its intention to expand its network of Envirotainer QEP certified sites by achieving QEP status at every primary airport facility where the Envirotainer is used by DHL, by end-2008.
The new Carolina facility will also serve as a regional training centre for additional DHL facilities dedicated to life science and healthcare warehousing and shipping services.
