IPC and DIW Release Regulatory Study on the Postal Service Market

The International Post Corporation in cooperation with the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) has released a sector study titled Traditional Regulatory Approaches to the Postal Service Market.
The study written by Sven Heitzler looks at the role of postal services in modern economies and their contribution to the communications and distribution infrastructure and how they directly or indirectly affect many industries outside the postal service.
The study explores market liberalization and privatization of formal public postal monopolies in a quest to enhance efficiencies and create a level playing field that ensures fair competition across the postal sector.
The study goes on to examine regulatory approaches and how these regulations have affected postal service providers since their inception.
