Mediapost expands into Spain

Mediapost, a subsidiary of La Poste, acquired five Spanish regional direct marketing companies to form a new company called Mediapost Spain.

Mediapost, a subsidiary of La Poste, acquired five Spanish regional direct marketing companies to form a new company called Mediapost Spain.

At the outset, Mediapost Spain becomes the leader in its sector in Spain with 25m euro in sales and 500m unaddressed items distributed.

Mediapost has a turnover of 440m euro and distributes 10 billion unaddressed items per year in mailboxes.

The distribution of unaddressed items in mailboxes is a specialty of Mediapost, Mediapost Spain has great potential with 400 messages per household per year, against 700 in France.

In September 2008, Mediapost purchased the BAAM group in Portugal and its president, Nicolas Routier, intends to continue this development.

Nathalie Andrieux, Mediapost CEO and President of the Portuguese subsidiary, took the chairmanship of Mediapost Spain, which will be led by Ignacio Pi, the founder of one of the five companies acquired.
