India Post will soon launch an intensive SMS campaign in all leading mobile phone services in Chennai region to sell its World Net Express (WNX), a new logistics product.
Postmaster general, Chennai region, MS Ramanujan, said the campaign would focus on telling the target audience groups the importance of being with India Post to send documents and parcels at a competitive rate and with speed to international destinations in 220 countries.
The special campaign that is scheduled to start by the first week of March would target users of logistics services, including private and public sector officials, besides the student community.
“With more and more students sending applications and correspondences to foreign universities, we find a big market. The drive would be on for a month,’’ he said.
The Chennai region India Post had just completed a preliminary campaign through the BSNL for WXN service and the response was good. The intensive campaign would be done in all mobile phone services, including the Airtel and Vodafone.
The WNX service was launched in December 2008 in Indian metros under a partnership between India Post and the German logistics major, the Deutsche Post World Net. The express services offer shipment of documents and parcels at an ‘impressively’ less transit time with the 24-7 facility to track and trace the consignments.
The deliveries are backed by Deutsche Post’s network of over 350 aircraft, 130,000 vehicles and over 500 employees in 220 countries.
