DHL flying with £1.2m aviation contract

DHL Express has won a £1.2m ($1.7m) contract with aircraft support specialist AJ Walter Aviation to manage its inbound and outbound delivery requirements from the UK.

DHL Express has won a £1.2m ($1.7m) contract with aircraft support specialist AJ Walter Aviation to manage its inbound and outbound delivery requirements from the UK.

Transporting approximately 25,000 packages per year, DHL Express will provide international services to AJ Walter including third-party transit into Miami, the global hub for aircraft repairs.

Andrew Smith, operations director at AJ Walter Aviation, said: “Having provided inbound and outbound services for us for 10 years, DHL have shown they understand our business needs for a reliable express provider. Their ability to deliver global solutions on a local level in the most cost-effective way ensures that we always stay an extra step ahead of our competitors.”

John Cornish, sales and marketing director for DHL Express UK – International, added: “The contract is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the strength of our global network.”
