Koninklijke Wegener and Deutsche Post International have reached an agreement on the sale of Wegener’s interest in Deutsche Post Selekt Mail Nederland to Deutsche Post.
Following the acquisition of Wegener’s 49% share in the mail company, Deutsche Post will own 100% of Selekt Mail Nederland. This move further strengthens the position of Deutsche Post in the Netherlands and creates new opportunities in this key European market by offering more combined cross-border and domestic mail services.
Along with Interlanden and DHL Global Mail, Selekt Mail Nederland forms a key pillar of Deutsche Post’s domestic and international mail business in the Dutch mail market. As the important alternative mail provider for the delivery of addressed mail items, Selekt Mail Nederland is a major competitor of the national public postal operator in this market segment in the Netherlands and has become the Dutch leader in mail-order based mail delivery.
In addition to the delivery of addressed mail items – including direct mail, brochures and catalogues – Selekt Mail Nederland provides a range of mail-related value-added services.
With mail order and insurance companies as well as non-profit organisations forming a major part of its business customer base, Selekt Mail serves companies from key industries as well as all Dutch households and post-office boxes at cost-effective rates.
