Deutsche Post probably paid about €20m ($26m) in pension claims to former CEO Klaus Zumwinkel, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported, citing its analysis of the company’s 2008 annual report.

The annual report, published 10 March, indicates that Zumwinkel, who resigned as CEO in February 2008, had his full pension entitlement paid out, which probably totaled €20m before taxes, the newspaper reported on 14 March.

The “financing of Zumwinkel’s pension claims is completed,” Post spokesperson Silje Skogstad said when contacted by Bloomberg News. She declined to comment on the amount cited by FAZ, saying Deutsche Post does not publish such information.
