HarperCollins opts for DHL

DHL has announced a new contract with publishers HarperCollins.

DHL has announced a new contract with publishers HarperCollins.

The contract will see DHL look after air and sea freight to HarperCollins’ sister companies and associates in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and India.

DHL Global Mail will also be responsible for managing the daily international mail from HarperCollins facilities in London and Glasgow. It is estimated that DHL will dispatch approximately two million kilograms of mail and books a year.

Mike Levaggi, supply chain director, HarperCollins said: “DHL offered us a complete solution that more than met our current requirements and anticipated our future needs. The simple concept of the Control Tower to oversee and manage our operations was easy to explain and sell internally.”

He added: “We have been impressed with the change in approach and service we have seen from DHL in the last year or so. I believe that DHL has the realistic potential to become a one stop shop for our freight and supply chain needs in the future, providing real value added services through understanding our specific needs.”
