TNT has opened a new state-of-the-art hub in Milan, costing €12m.
TNT has opened a new state-of-the-art hub in Milan, costing €12m.
The 430,000 facility, called the Milano Mega, is situated next to the runway at Linate Airport, Milan.
The airport already houses TNT’s Airbus A300 that makes daily trips to the logistic company’s hub in Liege.
Christian Drenthen, managing director of the Southern Europe Region of TNT Express said: “TNT believes in and is investing in economic recovery. These facilities were purpose designed for the customer proximity concept and handle our customers’ combined national and international business in one location, setting up the closest proximity logistics center. We are ready, as always, to offer the best to our customers, in terms of capacity to reach global markets ahead of our customers, markets where growth has never faltered. And it is in this area where airfreight will soon go back to playing an essential role.”
It is estimated that the Milano Mega can handle up to five million items per year.
